Columbus Dispatch: Ballot wording should be neutral, clear
Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010
According to an editorial in today's Dispatch, proposed ballot language for a Columbus City Council open meetings charter amendment must be improved so that voters can cast an informed decision.
The Dispatch credits the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus with complaining about the "coy language," resulting in submission of better -- though still largely inadequate -- wording by council.
The League had presented a statement to the Franklin County Board of Elections on Monday urging clearer language.
